27 Film Projects selected for 7th HAF

The Hong Kong - Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) announces its selection of 27 film projects for the event’s 7th edition from March 23rd to 25th, 2009.

The area’s premier co-production film financing market, the HAF has always been a magnet to both world-renowned and up-and-coming filmmakers. This edition features directors from 11 territories, i.e. Australia, Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, The Philippines, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. For a complete listing of all 27 selected projects, please visit the website at www.haf.org.hk.

Warm Welcome from the HAF Committee

Tim KWOK, HAF Reading Committee member and President of Convergence Entertainment Inc.:

"This year's selection of projects reaffirms HAF's commitment to not only supporting global independent cinema with unique voices but also finds common ground between what is considered an art house film and a commercial one."

Jacob WONG, HAF Director :

"A lot of the projects we received are pretty awesome, in matters of story and story-telling, from newcomers as well as seasoned filmmakers like KAWASE Naomi, NING Hao, and Brillante MENDOZA.  We very much look forward to the realization of these projects as we are quite confident that they'll have an impact on the future of the medium."

An online project book with full project details will be available at the HAF website in late January.  The latest HAF events and news update can also be found on Facebook now.  Join the HAF Facebook community by adding “HAF Asia” to share your thoughts and comments about the newest HAF projects.  Please stay tune!
