2006 marks a milestone for FILMART and HAF

HAF 2006 projects
  Over 10 projects (out of 25 HAF 2006 Projects) with different levels of progress.

 
  1. 3 projects completed or nearly finished, including Japan director KUMAKIRI Kazuyoshi's Freesia (a.k.a.Freesia - Icy Tears), Chinese mainland director, LI Yu's Lost in Beijing, and ZHANG Yang's Air.

  2. Taiwan's director LEE Kang-sheng's project, Help Me Eros (a.k.a Help Me) is in Production.

  3. Few more projects are in pre-production stage and ready to shoot in next year, they are: HUR Jung-ho's Hwa Jang, LIU Fen-dou's Part Ocean, Part Flame and YU Lik Wai's Plastic City.

  4. Hong Kong project A Breath Away, directed by Kit HUI, was selected by Sundance's 06 Annenberg Film Fellowship, Thailand project Utopia, directed by Apichatpong WEERASETHAKUL, has been selected for the L'Atelier program at 2006 Cannes Film Festival and the Singapore director, Royston TAN's 132 was selected to Locarno Opens Doors workshop 2006.

  5. Rome Film Festival's New Cinema Network (NCN) has invited the HAF 2006 project filmmakers to participate in their event! As one of HAFˇ¦s International Partners, the Rome Film Festival has invited Fruit CHAN, YU Lik Wai, Apichatpong WEERASETHAKUL and Lawrence GRAY to present HAF 2006 projects at NCN, giving them an opportunity to showcase their projects to more international financiers and buyers.

  1. Around 20 projects to be completed in 2006

  2. Indonesia director Nia DINATA's Love for Share, HAF 2005 Project, was selected as Indonesia's Oscar Entry 2006 and screened in this year Tribeca Film Festival.

  3. A Hong Kong/ Taiwan project The Drummers, HAF 2003 Projects, directed by Kenneth BI, produced by Peggy Chiao of Arc Light Films, a veteran multi-award winning producer, Thanassis Karathanos of Germany's Twenty Twenty Vision and Kenbiroli Films' producer Rosa Li. The Drummer will be handled internationally by Michael Weber of the Munich and Cologne-based The Match Factory, while Hong Kong-based powerhouse distributor, Emperor Motion Pictures, will be in charge of distribution to selected territories in Asia.

  4. 2 nearly completed HAF 2003 projects: CHANG Tsi-Chi's Butterfly and LIN Chin-je's The Longest Distance.
